Making Piping – Mini Tutorial

Start by cutting bias strips of fabric. I usually use 2 inch strips, unless I’m making teeny piping (like on the January Bug dress).
Overlap your strips like this to sew together. I know it looks weird, but trust me. Sew where the red line is.

Open out the sewn strips.

Cut off the little triangles hanging off the sides and press.

Sandwich cording into the center of the strip and fold it in half.

Using a zipper foot, stitch right next to the cording.

And pat yourself on the back for making piping!
