Hey y’all! Today we’re continuing with this year’s Halloween costumes, with a focus on Bean’s choice – Inigo Montoya. Which is nondescript enough to be pretty much any kind of prince costume – or a pirate. It all depends on the headgear and makeup. Boys costumes are easy like that.
Bean was actually the kid that sold the other cousins on this costume set. He really, really, really wanted a mustache. And a sword. Even if I wouldn’t give them the swords for the photo shoot – after all, I didn’t want it to devolve into a crying Princess casualty of a fencing match.
So – the costume details. His shirt is actually this one that I made for Tater years ago. The pants are from the same free pattern from last year – I just added some length. I really wished I could have just found Tater’s old Luke Skywalker pants, but also they were nowhere. And the vest is just the free Holiday Vest pattern, lengthened as shown below.
I cut the vest out of pleather and the vest lining from broadcloth, and omitted the welt pockets and buttons from the vest. Instead, we just belted it closed with his One Little Belt. Top to tail, this costume took me under an hour to make.
