The last week of the Project Run and Play Sew Along! I am going to miss it.
The last weekly theme was Special Occasion/Formal Wear. I knew I wanted to make a coordinating set. As I started to look around, I decided I wanted to make a seersucker blazer for Tater. You see seersucker on boys for formal occasions, but not so much for girls. Then I saw this gorgeous dress

I knew then I wanted to do seersucker for the girl’s dress too.
I had an idea for the photo shoot, but then one thing led to another, and my girl model’s mom and I ended up finding this little hidden park, and the whole thing just had such a fairy tale vibe, it was like it was meant to be.
This little girl was a dream to work with…unlike my crazy Tater who ran all over the place and took twice as long to get decent pictures.
Tater’s jacket is my own pattern (available here). I added welt pockets that aren’t a part of the pattern (but never fear – I will be putting up a tutorial).

The pants are a mix of Made’s Kid Pants and my own front, as seen here, made out of linen. The polo he’s wearing is purchased. And if you look closely, you can see the mud Tater managed to get on his knee during the shoot. Boys!
I am so pleased with the way these outfits turned out, and so glad I decided to Sew Along…it’s stretched my design skills and imagination in a great way.

Your photos are too gorgeous for words! I especially love the one where you can see their reflection in the water. So amazing!
I’m getting ready to make your blazer pattern (after I finish my Beignet Skirt!), and bought some fabric yesterday in green corduroy, so this post was great to see. Thanks for designing something for the little guys.

Beautiful photos! We live in the desert so our pictures are quite different. Who would have thought seersucker could be so romantic?
