Today I'm showing off my pattern from the Just Add Jeans Collection - the Wild Flower.
I was channeling Downton Abbey and early 1920s fashion when I started to design this top. I love those deep V-necks you see in fashion during that time period. OK, who am I kidding - the 1920s in general might be my favorite fashion era ever. But you can't really wear those kind of clothes on a day to day basis, and some of the silhouettes aren't as flattering on curvier figures. So I wanted to take that idea and translate it into something you can wear now.
So the Wild Flower has three sleeve options - bell, short, and long. Both Lexi and I are wearing the bell version.
The top and the bottom of the V are pleated and sewn to a contrasting inner bodice - because I need the coverage, but in Texas I hate wearing two layer shirts in the summer - it's sooooo hot! So the contrast bodice panel is part of the pattern.
I think it's the perfect romantic top to go with these equally romantic earrings from collection sponsor Jacaranda Designs.
So to go with the historic inspiration we took photos in the historic part of downtown.
Where, you know, it's totally logical to carry around Louisa May Alcott books and sit around reading them.
Or stroll in heels carrying your velvet brocade clutch. OK, I'll admit it, I do miss the theatre and costumes sometimes.
But also, if I do say so myself, this top is flattering on lots of shapes and sizes. As evidenced by my hot friend Suzanne who tested this.
The Wildflower top is available for $11.95 in my shop.
Fabric Details: Girl Charlee Mira Sky Blue Cotton Jersey, sewn in a double layer. Contrast stretch lace from my stash.

I really like this now seeing the additional views and that the modesty panel isn’t a separate cami. I was really on the fence as to whether I wanted to buy the whole collection or a few individual patterns, but now I’m leaning towards the whole collection.

Just add jeans. Another fantastic project. But hey where did you get those cute shoes. In the UK we call them ‘kitten heels’. The whole outfit works really well.
Thanks again

Hey hot friend Suzanne, that top looks fabulous on you! I like the fabric choice too.
