For his first birthday, Tater was given a superhero cape with his name appliqued on it. Finally after he has turned three, I made Bean his own. So he can stop going around with Tater ‘s name on his back as his super alter-ego.
And now, he defends freedom everywhere as Captain Bean!
Okay, it actually has his name embroidered on the back, but I erased it in Photoshop.
But that won’t keep him from flying off into the sunset…
And standing tall against the forces of darkness…
Or staring down his enemies, where ever they try to hide.
If you want to make your own, I didn’t do a tutorial. Oops. But I did find this one from Sew Like my Mom that is basically the same as what I did, except I serged my two pieces of fabric together around the edges so I didn’t have to turn anything right side out. Or alternately, skirtastop has this one, and Rae Gun Ramblings has this one.

He looks quite fierce in his green cape. Great gift idea.

Super cute! Thanks for this. I have a superhero needing a cape for christmas so I’ve bookmarked these resources.
