Remember this post with the Spoonflower fabric? Well, here’s what I made with it.
A saddle shoulder henley.
A saddle shoulder is constructed with a piece of fabric that spans the shoulder area on the front and back. It can be similar to a raglan sleeve with the “saddle” cut in one piece with the sleeve, or it can be similar to a yoke, in which it is a separate piece sewn to the front and the back pieces before setting in normal cap sleeves.
I had other plans in mind for this shirt, but it wanted to be a henley, so a henley it is.
As far as a saddle shoulder pattern, well, there’s something in the works. It’s not exactly like this but I think you’ll like it. It’s going to be the last of the Hipster collection I’m doing for Lil Blue Boo.
So I’ll leave you with a parting shot of Tater doing his Gangnam Style dance during our photo shoot. I really need to get him and Bean on video dancing to that song. Are any of your kids crazy about it?

Very cool!
Yep, definitely went to a good cause. I love the Henly with the saddle shoulders.
haha my kids are crazy for Gangnam Style! When my two year old was a baby the big song was We No Speak Americano and we’d sing “bop-bop-Oliviano!” … now we have another baby and we started singing “Oopa Jackson style” but then my 2 year old misheard that and now it’s “Poopoo Jackson style.” We’re classy like that.
I love what you did with this fabric.
I wish you posted a video of that Gangnam style dancing!!
I love this!!
So cute. I love the fabrics you paired for this top. Very cool and boyish. Thanks for linking up this week!
