Poinsettia Headbands

Poinsettia Headband Tutorial - Quick and Easy Gift - Melly Sews #sewing #DIY #holiday #Christmas

Tonight I made this poinsettia headband for my tiny baby niece. And it was so easy and cute I promptly made more for some more cousins. These are quick and simple to sew, and they make beautiful embellishments for everything from headbands to gift wrapping.

I made the flowers the same way I did these flowers for the Poinsettia T-Shirt Refashion (this other post has a more complete tutorial on them)

The thing I changed for the headbands, besides the fabric (I used flannel for these – I like the slightly frayed edges), was that I cut bigger strips for the petals – they were 5 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches.

And then sew them onto some elastic, and you’re done!

Oh! I have to make one of these for my daughter. She’ll love to wear one to all of our holiday gatherings. But I’m sure she’ll want a pink poinsettia!
