Hey y’all – we’re one month away from the launch of my book, Sundressing, and I wanted to share one more of the dresses from the book as well as let you know about the book launch party we’ll be having next month!
The dress I’m featuring today is called the Driskill Dress, and it’s from the “Soiree” chapter in the book, which is full of dresses for summer parties. This one is satin and layers of tulle, and every little girl who has seen it has immediately gotten starry eyed. There’s just something about that wonderfully poufy skirt that calls to them.
One of the things I love that we did with the book was that we also included some style tips for how to wear your sundresses beyond the warm months. For example, the add a nordic sweater, scarf, tights and boots, and your little girl can keep wearing her favorite poufy dress when the temperatures drop. Because Sundressing is about an attitude, not a season.
And I’ve got more exciting news – and a save the date!
On June 23rd we’ll be having a launch party. I’ve teamed up with The Cloth Pocket here in town so we can do an event that’s both local AND online! If you’re in the Austin area, come have some snacks, see some dresses, get your book signed and shop The Cloth Pocket‘s pop up shop that will be at the party to help you get started on your sundress ideas.
If you’re not local, you’ll be able to shop The Cloth Pocket‘s online shop to get a signed copy of the book. I’ll also be livestreaming the event on my Facebook page and Snapchatting and Instagramming throughout, so you can see me sign your book even if you’re not local. And if you have already pre-ordered Sundressing through Amazon (thank you!), I’m working on a way to get you a signed bookplate if you request one during the party, so stay tuned for more details.
Phew – those are a lot of details, but I hope you’re getting as excited about this as I am. Can’t wait for next month!

I am so excited for you!!! You have a knack for knowing what people want to wear. It’s nice to see a genuinely talented person do good.

waaauw, you’re getting close to the launch party!! Good luck with it!! I like everything I see here about the book!!! In July my sewing machine and supplies will arrive from home (as we speak they are put on the boat to be shipped to Baltimore and then to DC, where we live since a few weeks) so maybe I’ll be giving this to myself as a welcome gift 🙂 🙂 Although I’m not used to English sewing terms. I have some english pattersn and always struggle a little with it… But I’ll have to get used to it, of course 🙂
