Hooray! Thanks to all that voted for this; I am a finalist in American Crafter! Stay tuned on Friday for my finale entry.
Apparently I only thought I was under pressure last week – how can I top winning two weeks in a row? Well, here’s my best effort for spring – my Spring Flowers belt and dress. I made the three leather flowers and several leaves to embellish the simple leather belt I picked up at the thrift store, then paired it with this dress I sewed. The fabric is a pretty fresh green with white floral embroidery all over it, and I designed it shirtwaist style with a princess seamed flared skirt and banded puff sleeves.
Hubby snapped these pictures for me after a c-r-a-z-y day at work, and the clouds were threatening spring showers the whole time.

GORGEOUS!!!! This totally reminds me of a belt youd spend gobs of money on at anthropology! PERFECT for Spring (or anytime in my book)!
I Know The Plans I Have For You
You’ve been doing great!! I love the belt and the dress! I can’t even try to figure out how you made it! Hope we both make it to next week! I can’t wait to see what you would come up with next….the pressure is on LOL
I voted for you! I really like your belt and can’t wait to see how you put it together.
This belt ornament looks like luscious chocolate!!! It is gorgeous. I am voting for you now.

The belt is so so pretty. Love how big the flowers are!
I really LOVE this!! I have a similar belt and wanted to make something like that with a different color of leather. Was it difficult to handle the material?
No, the material wasn’t hard to work with; just time consuming to wait for the leather to dry and then the glue to dry. I have a tutorial up here
So pretty!! I need to make one of those!!!
Wow how beautiful! I’ve never worked with leather, but this looks absolutely gorgeous! Nicely done!!!!
I love this! I am featuring this at somedaycrafts.blogspot.com today. Grab my featured button.
This is really pretty! I think I’m going to have to put this on my to-do list 🙂 Thanks for sharing it!
