I would probably choose “Something in the Water” by Brooke Fraser and make an outfit in aqua and coral for my daughter. Hopefully I’ll get to participate next year and make my plan a reality!
Diana
The Beatles’ “Let It Be” comes to mind, and some kind of skirt, with lots of twirl factor.
Diane (Mo) Collins
I would sew to “You are My Sunshine” and sew two long flowing dresses for my two grand princesses in soft lemon yellow. They love to run on the beach in San Diego and then wade in the water holding their long skirts up. We sing that song all the time.
DonnaRae
Red Solo Cup by Toby Keith
Melissa Evans
I keep thinking of the “Bad Boys” theme song from that old cops show. A stenciled tee with some edgy looking pants.
Emily
I would pick india.arie’s “Video,” a song about being just who you are naturally (no matter what you’re wearing) and that being awesome–and I would let my daughter have more than her usual share of influence in fabric choice. I sew mostly practical things for her, so her clothes don’t really express the flair of her personality, and more often reflect my taste. Time to let her express herself!
cathyv
“Blackbird Fly” and I would make some kitchen dish towels!
Audrey
A few weeks ago we made a Taylor Swift Shake It Off inspired outfit…something we never thought we’d do! So by next year who knows what song would be the most current or if we’d be inspired by it. But we love skirts, and a story skirt is so fun…that’s probably what we’d do!
Andrea
Shake it off by Taylor swift and maybe some Hudson style pants:)
Kristi Andres
There is a song by Audio Adrenaline on the Kings and Queens disc that has to do with a battle… I would make a battle related outfit for one of my boys… perhaps a knight hoodie, a freezer paper decorated tee… something like that.
Alexia Miller
“May it Be” by Enya with some flowy skirts that have a fairy / elvish look….

California Dreaming, and for my daughters I would make long flowy skirts, head scarves, peasant blouses, and for my son, some No. 9 pants in a funky print & a shirt with a nice big 70’s collar. 🙂
Sarah J.
Tough one- so many choices! My kids love Of Monsters and Men and they have a song about a dragonfly so maybe something summery with a large applique dragonfly.
Megan
I’d choose “U Got the Look” by Prince and would sew a dress or a cute skirt.

Caitlin
I’d use the “Boat Song” by JJ Heller to make a blue button down shirt for my hubby. It was the song I choose for our wedding and it would instill all my love into the project.
Stacy
With all the cold weather we’ve been having, I’m thinking “Kokomo”…. and beachwear, shorts, and cute sundresses!
Julie R.
What a fun series! It’s really hard for me to pick what song I would do for a challenge like this. I think “Billy, Don’t Be a Hero” would be a fun song to do. I’d make a military jacket, and a haey of some sort, my boys would love it!

Our wedding song is “Home to You” by John Michael Montgomery so I’d choose that and sew everyone some comfy sweats for just hanging out around the house.

I want to sew a Catalina Dress by Blank Slate, it’s gorgeous.
Judith Martinez
I love the little birds look! I would love to make a dress like that for my 2 year old. Super adorable!
Carly
I would make a skirt using all of the beautiful nature imagery from “Sweet Afton” by Nickel Creek (birds, flowers, trees, river). Either that, or go the more comical route and make a shirt featuring a fox holding a fork and a knife about to eat a goose, a la “The Fox.” And now I’m inspired….
Heather Luth
I’d sew a cute bag to Uptown Funk!
Kerrie Erb
Mighty Quinn….I’d make my Q a warm jacket. He’s been wanting a fuzzy lined zip up.
Stephanie Keime
If I were a rich girl. And sew something totally bling!
Elina
I’ve been listening to this song called Northern Lights a lot lately, a great piece of choral music, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J99pF91b5fQ. I’m envisioning a flowy dress with shades of blue and green…
