I free-handed mine, but you could use a stencil or whatever you want to get your desired look!
Total disclosure: I totally stole the idea to use glue from Pinafores and Pinwheels. Here is her tutorial on Project Run and Play. You should check it out!
On dyeing times: I wish I’d left mine in about twice as long as I did. The times listed here are the actual times I used. You can adjust depending on how light or dark you want your shirt.
When your dye bath is complete rinse the shirt in cold water making sure to get all the glue off. Then wash and dry your shirt by itself. (If you don’t it will bleed all over everything.)
These bad boys are AWESOME! (Yes, I badly need a manicure. BADLY.)
Most vintage tees have bright colors, so go nuts! Now this looks good, but it’s still a little too bright…
Thanks Alida! While you’re looking around Alida’s blog, make sure to catch her Tony Faux Hawk outfit – another great boy look.

Alida, this came out great! I love when I see bloggers try other bloggers’ techniques and give them a twist. It makes me think if at least two have tried it with success, it must be possible and not just a fluke! I can’t wait to try some glue “painting” today 🙂
