Today it is my honor to welcome Kirstin from Kojo Designs to the series! I started following her blog when she was competing in Sew-Vivor over at Family Ever After and have since gotten to know her further through blogging. And (be jealous) I will get to meet her in person at SNAP! later this year. Take it away Kirstin!
Hello Melly Sews friends! I’m Kirstin, half of the sister team that blogs over at kojodesigns, and I’m thrilled to be here today as part of Sew In Tune.
I know Valentine’s Day was last week, but my little Missy Prissy has a thing for hearts and sparkles, so we’re drawing it out a bit around here.
My Sew In Tune inspiration song is “My Funny Valentine” by Frank Sinatra. The line You make me smile with my heart is just perfect for my sparkle-loving, lovey girl.
To make a heart of sequins-
Start with a plain shirt (I sewed this one using Figgy’s Banyan Tunic Pattern). Cut out a paper heart. Using a fabric pen, trace onto your shirt.
Start sewing a line of sequins along your traced-heart.
After you finish stitching the first heart outline, add another heart of sequins along the inner perimeter.
Once both hearts of sequins are finished, give to your funny valentine- the one who makes you smile with your heart.
Thanks for having us for Sew in Tune, Melissa and Stacey- what a fabulous series! And, friends, come on over to kojodesigns at any time.
Make sure to go by and check out some more of my personal faves among Kirstin’s projects, like these (click on any pic to go to the post)

That outfit is too cute and I love the hearts. However, I am desperate to know where all of you fabulously talented people find the great back drops for all of your pictures? Do you all have these completely empty rooms with walls painted in either solid or patterns that you can use for photo shoots? I am so impressed. 🙂
