Embroidery and serger thread; sewing thread is in the machine’s cabinet
Two handmade totes. The one on the left is now used to store patterns. The one on the right is made from the first yarn I ever spun myself, and some gift yarn a lovely lady brought me from South America, and it’s holding some of my yarn stash (which used to be bigger than my fabric stash).
A fabric covered shoebox is the perfect size to hold ziploc bags that store the patterns I draft myself and PDF patterns that have been printed out.
Knitting books on the left and sewing books on the right.

I love it! at this point I am sharing a sewing space with my hubby’s home office, and he had taken up beer brewing, so it’s all crammed into one room! I am slowly moving the playroom around so I can have a nice little space for myself! I can only hope my husband doesn’t take it upon himself to include his brew ware in my “safe sewing haven”. Thanks for the peek at your sewing room!

I love the way you covered your desk chair. Over my sewing career, I’ve sewn on the kitchen table and in the cold, damp basement. I’m finally fortunate to have a dedicated sewing room. I totally lucked out and found some old library furniture @ Restore. All the pieces together totaled under $500. I just posted about it last week. You might like to look at it on my blog? http://joysjotsshots.blogspot.com/2012/02/after-hurricane-christmas-2011-sewing.html
I’m really enJOYing your site. As you will see, your site is one on my blog list.

Love it! I too use the dining room table for my stuff! I’m lucky enough for it to be right next to my little corner of the house that holds my sewing machines and wall of sewing stuff (as the hubby calls it) I am trying to become more organized, and I think I just need more bins to hide it all in! lol Thanks for sharing, you can see some of mine over here at my blog

You have a great space. My space is currently a tiny nook in the laundry room so I am indeed jealous. Sharing it with the kids is great too because they like to be with you, at least mine do, they always follow me into my tiny nook.

I love your sewing space, i just wish i could get mine situated as good as yours is… my special, Autistic grandson just took my sewing room over for his bedroom, which i gladly gave him… he is to special to say no too. It’s the 2nd bedroom anyway… Also he is finally staying the night with me now… I would give him the world if I could… but he helped me sew his mothers apron for her birthday… which is today… he was so excited to give it to her… I would never take the room from him but i will make half of it mine… I envy yours & love it too… thanks for sharing it with us all…
