Today as part of my kids Spring Fashion week, I’m showing off a new variation of what used to be the Holiday Pajamas sewing pattern, the Lazy Day Pajamas. This started because I had this adorable Sock Monkey fabric, and because Bean didn’t get a whole set of pajamas for Christmas like Tater did – he just got pants and a t-shirt. Poor second child – I needed to remedy that, and since it’s getting warmer here, I decided to do short sleeves.
The updated pattern has a short sleeve option (but if you already own the pattern, don’t worry! Just cut your sleeve off 2 1/2″ [6cm] down the underarm seam) and new styling – shown in Sock Monkey quilting cotton, these pajamas are now perfect for spring!
I think quilting cotton is the perfect, most comfortable weight for pajamas in the central Texas climate, and my boys seem to agree – they love to wear their all.day.long. Like the have to be threatened with time out before they’ll get dressed.
Incidentally, the monkey Bean is carrying around in these photos is one I knit while pregnant with Tater. I love that my boys adore both their handmade clothes and their handmade toys.
See you tomorrow for the release of the Schoolday Skirt!

I hope for you that your boys stille love their handmade cloths when they grow older. What a cute little boy!

Hi,
I just bought the pattern and I’m looking forward to making my son his requested Star Wars Pajamas.
I live in New Zealand, Our packet sizes are different. The pattern says 2 pkgs piping. How long is that?
I’ve yet to find any I like anyway, so I may just try making some, but again, I’m not sure how much I would need.
Thanks
