Day 1 of Kids Clothing Week Challenge.
I said I was going to be live blogging, and I (sort of) am. Usually I try to write and schedule my posts at least a week ahead of time – like I do them all while watching TV Sunday night after the boys go to bed. But this week you’re going to get a morning post of what I did the day before.
So, today I got fabric cut. Here’s the fabric I pulled in preparation:
I added a few more things to that pile as I was cutting.
And here’s the pile of cut out sewing. I think this whole cut everything at once has actually saved me time. I should do this more often.
In that pile are
For Tater:
- Tigger costume
- 3 long sleeve Raglan t-shirts
- 1 long sleeve Hipster Henley
- 1 New pattern that I’m not talking about yet
For Bean
- Raincoat
- 1 long sleeve Raglan t-shirt
- 1 Cool Cardigan
How about you? Who’s participating in KCWC? And what do you have planned?
Tomorrow I hope to show you some of this pile sewn.

Where did you find that Longhorn knit? Is it a repurposed t-shirt or something? I’m forever looking for knit longhorn fabric with a small pattern like that. If you ever find a source, please let me know!
I love how organized you are. I’ve been fighting a cold, which means that I may or may not do KCWC this time. I had big hopes, but I’ve only gotten as far as pre-washing fabric.

I’m not doing KCWC either. 🙁 love cutting lots of things out at once— it means you can sew a bunch without stopping!

I did the same thing today. My goal today was to cut out 4 tote bag patterns by 3:15 (when youngest 2 get home from school) and it’s now 2:40 and I’m done. It feels nice to complete a goal like this because it doesn’t happen every day LOL 🙂 And the ladies are right, cutting everything out one day and sewing the next is fun because you can spend a whole day just sewing and not going back and forth! You are far more organised than me. I’ve been too busy to do anything today although I did find an amazing hoodie to refashion at a thrift shop. I haven’t quite narrowed down my list yet either but I can’t wait to get started after work tomorrow.

Wow, that’s a lot of stuff to sew! I am so slow that I wouldn’t be able to get all that done…ha ha ha. I plan on making my little guy a raincoat too, I can’t wait to see what you do. I am still thinking about what material I’d like to use for the project.

I cut 3 clean slate shorts and 2 blank tanks in preparation last week! (Its coming up to spring here in Australia and its going to be a stinking hot summer). I agree it is much better to get all the cutting done in a mass session 🙂
