Hey y’all! Today is my birthday week, and I get to be part of the book tour for my amazing friend Lindsay, and those two things are so awesome that I’m going to celebrate by giving something away to YOU! Make sure you read all the way to the end – there’s something for everyone, and then the contest form. And just so you know, I did receive a copy of this book from the publisher for review, but I already thought it was fabulous. After all, I’ve recently recommended it in my holiday gift ideas newsletter.
Let me start by saying that Lindsay, The Cottage Mama, is one of those bloggers I am so blessed to have met. She is  hardworking and gracious in sharing her knowledge, and I have learned a ton from her. One of the highlights of my first Quilt Market this year was getting to meet her in person.

Me, Kate of See Kate Sew, and Lindsay of The Cottage Mama
So when I got an email asking if I’d like to be on her book tour, there was no hesitation to hit yes and reply immediately! I mean, look at the company I’m in:
So as soon as I had a lazy Sunday to grab a cup of tea and sit down with this book, I did. It is filled with gorgeous photos and patterns like the Little Lady Coat (picture courtesy The Cottage Mama).
I love how the title pages for each section show a closeup of fabric and stitch graphics like the fabric is stitched to the photos.
Speaking of photos – I love that the instructions in this book have photo realistic illustrations! They’re the best of both worlds – Â the details of color photos combined with the simplicity of illustration – and just gorgeous.
I also love that the end of the book has more suggestions on personalizing your creations from these patterns (which are all PDF patterns included on a CD rom with the book).
Speaking of personalizing, though I love the classic lines of Cottage Mama patterns, my choices in fabric are often quite different. For example, I love the details on the Sweet Dress in the book
But I’m thinking of a version for my niece Baby Girl that looks a little more like this:
I love geometric prints, like this one I found at Mood Fabrics, and Baby Girl loves pinks and purples, so I think this dress would be a hit.
And in case you want to play with your own design on this dress, you can get the blank line drawing I used here. See, I told you. something for everyone! You could even let your little fashionista color in her own for inspiration.
You can purchase Sew Classic Clothes for Girls from the Cottage Mama here, or you can get it through Amazon here (affiliate link).
And one lucky person is going to win the copy I got Lindsay to sign at Quilt Market! To enter, use the Rafflecopter widget below. Open to US residents only (because I’m shipping this one myself).
