Hey y’all – I’m back with another post today. I’m sharing this striped maxi dress tutorial. My lovely sister in law agreed to model for me, and I was excited to stitch up this comfy maxi dress for her.
I think this Jeni Baker Geometric Bliss Parallel Segments knit is so pretty; it’s got nice 4 way stretch, so you can actually used the stripes either way. I’ve been hoarding it for myself, but giving it to this gal was even nicer; I’m so glad she’s enjoying it. And she obviously had the perfect shoes to match. It was meant to be.
This dress is actually a revamp of a dress from the 2013 edition of (30) Days of Sundresses.
The free pattern details and Striped Maxi Tutorial are all here.

I have no idea how I missed this dress the first time you made it, but I love this dress!!! Maybe it’s the empire waist, but there’s something very “Pride & Prejudice” about it, which I love and I think it will be perfect for our crazy Central Texas summers 🙂
Off I go to try your tutorial on making sewing patterns bigger (I’m an XL)…wish me luck!! Thank you for sharing!!!!!

Love this. I always need sleeves on my dresses and shirts. Thanks so much for sharing!

I love, love, love this dress! It would work so well with my pear-shaped shortness that doesn’t make natural waist dresses very flattering. Unfortunately, I’ve been organizing my fabric this week and experiencing increasing horror at the number of ufos. So I might need to pin this for next summer!

Pretty dress – I love the fabric! Thanks for the pattern and tutorial.

I love this dress and would love to make it. I can’t seem to be able to find the pattern for the bodice.

Thank you! I have been looking for a pattern like this for two years. I had one when I was younger and loved this dress. Thank you again, you made my day.
