Y’all – I’m typing words I can’t quite believe – I DESIGNED FABRIC FOR RILEY BLAKE!!!!!!!! If you had asked me 5 years ago what I thought I’d be doing in 2015, in my wildest dreams this never would have been it. Every day I am so grateful for the opportunities this blog has brought me and this career I have shaped for myself and the people I get to work with (like my dear friends pictured above…who I never would have met without the blog).
If you are on Instagram you may have seen this announcement Friday. Except…we didn’t say which of the 4 of us had designed which print.
Soooooo…all of you that guessed mine was the floral were RIGHT!
We designed this collection a little differently than we normally work (which is online). While we had discussed the fabrics and plans and had ideas and sketches, we worked together in person for mad few days at Quilt Market last fall, finalizing designs when we got home. Basically it was the equivalent of a working slumber party in our hotel room, ha!
The fabrics are all knits (YAY!) and will be available in stores this fall. If you want to make sure your favorite fabric store carries them, contact them and ask for it. Fabric stores can start pre-ordering now.
I can’t wait to get samples of these fabrics to sew with (and we’ll do a whole bunch of posts with our creations, I’m sure), but in the meantime, here are some ideas.
