Happy Thanksgiving to my readers in the U.S.! And for everyone with Netflix, happy Gilmore Girls revival tomorrow. Just in time for that, I’m sharing a knitting project – my Lorelai Shawl, inspired by the series.
The Lorelai Shawl is a knitting pattern designed by my friend Shannon at Very Shannon, who was kind enough to send me the pattern. And while I love the bright colors of her versions, I knew I would not necessarily wear those.
But I loved the lace pattern, and her pictures showing the shawl worn as a scarf gave me ideas.
So I knit mine up in a lace weight superwash merino yarn. I bought only the cream color, and then tea -dyed one skein for the contrast bands. The tea dying actually came out darker than I thought it would, but I ended up really liking the contrasting neutrals.
And since I made mine lighter weight than the pattern called for, it’s a warm but not overwhelming scarf for Texas weather.
The Lorelai Shawl pattern is available at VeryShannon and on Ravelry.
