Really gorgeous take on this pattern! And I love what you say about the importance of considering what really matters about the clothes we like to wear.
Susan Katz
Thank you! And yes, essential is truly in the eye of the beholder! ?

FAB-U-LOUS!!!! It reminds me of my favorite dress back in, oh, 1989-ish?? I wore that thing until I wore it out!!! I’ll admit, the idea of a placket and buttons ALL the way down the front really intimidates me, but your fabric pattern is so cool because it seems to disguise there are even buttons on the front!! Am I not seeing buttons or are they not there?!! Super cute!!!!!
Susan Katz
Thanks so much! Nope, no buttons on this one. The pattern includes a “popover” version that skips the placket and has a neckline facing. Definitely quicker — I’ve made the popover version more often than the placket one! It’s nice to have both options. ?
Samina
This version is my favorite version of this dress! I’ve had the pattern since it came out, but haven’t been able to quite figure out what to do with it. This version is great inspiration to guide me for mine, thank you!
Susan Katz
That’s the nicest compliment! Thanks, Samina — I hope you love your versions as much as I do mine. 😀

You look so confident in that dress, the fabric is so beautiful, definitely a winning combination…I love the final result 🙂
Susan Katz
Thank you! I have to admit that I feel pretty confident in it, too! ❤️
Shannon Clark
So cute, Susan! I love the extra “flow” of the skirt. (Cute shoes, btw. 🙂 )
Susan Katz
Thanks, Shannon. ? Oh these shoes are my favorite purchase this summer for sure… they’re as comfy as they are cute!
LoisAnn
The fit of that dress on you is perfect! Very becoming.
Susan Katz
Thanks Lois!

I love this, and I looked at your Pinterest board and love the idea of a zipper down the front!
Susan Katz
Oh me too! I think that would be so cute…
Karel Riley
I REALLY like this dress on you – the fit is great, the print is terrific, and I love the shape of the skirt.
Susan Katz
Thank you Karel!

I’m just now looking for a non-fussy dress for a warm-weather climate that I will visit and this looks perfect. Thank you for modeling and showing me what the final result can be. I do fairly elementary sewing – is this a good pattern for me?
Thanks!
Susan Katz
I think it should work well! The instructions are thorough, and the sewalong pictures can definitely provide additional help if you want it. 🙂
