Today I’m honored to be on the blog tour for The Cottage Mama’s new patterns! Lindsay is a super sweet person (I’m fortunate to have talked to her on the phone many times) and is also a super hard working business woman. In addition to the 4 new patterns she just released in PDF form and on paper, she has a book coming up in October Sew Classic Clothes for Girls (affiliate link). Wow! She’s like the businesswoman I want to be in a few years.
Lindsay sent me the patterns for her Miss Matilda Dress and Skip and Play Pants and Capris, and I made a set for my niece Baby Girl. Who suddenly is not looking so much like a baby anymore.
The top has a ton of options – dress length, and with or without ruffles around the neck and along the button placket. There are also lots of fabric mixing options. But I thought this strawberry print was busy enough without adding more prints. And as mentioned above, you can get it in PDF (instant gratification!) or paper (no printing and taping!).
The capris were super easy to whip up – like a 1 hour project. Again I went for fewer fabrics, but kept the cute cuff detail. This pattern also has the pants length option and options for ruffles along the cuffs and/or waistband. Just like the top, these are available in PDF and paper.
This is about the only good picture we got of Baby Girl without her lollipop – she wasn’t being the most cooperative model.
But just like her mama and auntie, she has a sweet tooth!
Don’t miss out on the rest of this tour – lots of fun clothes sewn by the following bloggers:

The outfit is adorable on that little sweetie! I love the contrast on the pants. It is just enough to make it a darling outfit. Bravo!

How large do her patterns run? My 7yrold granddaughter is a slender size 7 while my 3yrold granddaughter is a ‘hefty’ (& tall) size 6. They both would look good in this outfit. The book is on my wish list, but I have the same question about it. Such a cute model 🙂

Like all patterns I’ve used, hers run true to the measurement chart she includes. So I’d compare your granddaughters’ measurements to the measurement chart to determine which size to make for each of them.

Yes, just as Melissa said……..all The Cottage Mama Pattern designs run true to size according to the size chart that is included with each pattern. If you select your sizing based on your child’s measurements and compare it to the size chart, you will have just the right fitting garment. The great thing about using a size chart is that if you realize your child is a size 2 in the chest, but a size 4 in the length…….more often than not you can make the adjustments necessary to ensure a perfect fitting garment. The book is also based off the the same size chart. Thanks so much!

I have a soft spot for anything strawberries and this is especially cute! I love the ruffled front, but it looks so chic without the ruffle, too! Love seeing all of these different variations! (and I love the lollipop pictures, by the way)
