Hi, Tami from SewSophieLynn here and I’m sharing my version of the Forsythe Trousers with you guys today! Everyone needs a pair of comfortable, chic pants in their wardrobe and this pattern totally delivered.
In a lightweight rayon challis from Raspberry Creek Fabrics, these are a dream! I was excited to make this pattern but in this thin, drapey fabric I faced a few challenges. I left off the back welt pockets because I wanted to avoid the bulk they would add. I also left off the cuff knowing that it wouldn’t hold very well in this fabric. Leaving those elements out also added to the simplicity of this pattern- win, win!
They are a basic elastic-waist pant kicked up a notch. The pockets, belt loops, and sash add a dash of sophistication to keep you from looking like you’re in your pjs, but you will definitely feel just as comfortable as if you were! A quick Pinterest search pulled up so many sleek, cute looks featuring a fun sash belt – my favorite part for sure!
This month’s blog theme is Travel and I think these pants will be a traveling staple for me. They are comfy for road trips but also classy enough for site seeing. I’ve got an upcoming European vacation that I know these will be perfect for. This is my first piece in my capsule travel wardrobe. We will be traveling towards the beginning of fall, and these are the perfect seasonal transition pants.
I also love this deep mauve color. It looks great with so many other colors from this olive to navy to my favorite chambray top. I think they’re such a fantastic base to start my traveling wardrobe with!
I get so many compliments on these pants whenever I wear them. Such a simple, classic look that really stands out. I can’t help dreaming about a cute kelly green pair like the listing pics too! A girl can never have too many ‘secret pjs’!
