Whew – it’s a PACKED week on the blog here! In addition to Sew in Tune, there’s a Boatneck Sewalong going on in my pattern group. We’re getting to the pattern hack portion of the sewalong, so I wanted to make sure and post this hack on how to make a button back top. Get the full tutorial here.

Oooh, I like that hack. The button back reminds me of vintage things you see on 1950’s-60’s tv shows. You know where the character is a single woman who lives alone but wears button back dresses. And you wonder how in the world she got dressed all by herself. Or maybe that’s just me. LOL I didn’t know you had a pattern group on FB. I’ll have to check it out.

Oh, I see one of these in my near future- I love the button back! I just ordered some Cotton & Steel yesterday, intending it for something else, but I think my plan may be changing after seeing your top!

You left the selvedge! Love it!

Beautiful detail! And I love the lines of the Shoreline Boatneck! I’ve got a Craft Gossip post scheduled for tomorrow morning that links to your tutorial: http://sewing.craftgossip.com/tutorial-button-back-blouse-pattern-hack/2015/02/11/

Hmmm, I’ve got a ton of my husband’s dress shirts that I’ve been wanting to upcycle (collars are frayed), seems this would be a GREAT pattern to use – especially since all the buttons are done 🙂

Love this!! I just got a new sewing machine that does one-step buttonholes. Joy!
