One of the things I never knew I would enjoy so much about blogging is “meeting” (online anyway) other bloggers. Amanda of Kitschy Coo is someone I never would have met if not for blogging, but I am excited to be on her pattern tour for her Skater Dress pattern.
It’s been a while since I’ve sewn something for my niece Baby Girl, and when I pointed her to my shelf of knits, she was adamant that she wanted “dis one” – the Target Practice knit from my sponsor Banberry Place that I was saving for a boy project. So what Baby Girl wants…
The pattern itself is a pretty quick and easy sew, and I personally enjoyed the European English – like making sure the boxes are “ticked” when printing the pattern, not checked as I would say. Amanda herself is American, but she lives and writes out of Edinburgh, so in my imagination she has a fabulous and Scottish accent.
Baby Girl is wearing a size 18m/2T, and I did trim it down in length because she is a lil peanut. So I think this will probably still fit her next year, which is awesome!
I totally kept singing “Skaterboy” in my head while sewing this (Averil Lavigne? Anyone?)

I was totally singing that song when I was making Caroline’s skater dresses. Love that baby girl chose the blue knit. A girl after my own heart <3

I love when girls aren’t stuck on “girl” colors. I think she looks awesome.
