So, I only finished one more pair of Clean Slate Shorts. But the other 2 pairs are sooo close – like just need the buttonholes/buttons close. But I ran out of buttons. So they will be finished tomorrow.
These shorts were upcycled from the gray jeans I’m wearing in this post, because they got a huge rip in the crotch seam and it was pretty much unpatch-able. But at least I was able to keep the cool stitching on the pockets! I think it makes them look store-bought.
Then I started looking for fabric to use for the 2 Blank Tanks I want to make. I had this huge pile of knits in my refashion stash. But apparently I’ve cut just a little out of all of them, so there was hardly anything I could use to make a tank. So why was I saving all this? Apparently to make pockets, plackets and sleeves. But there are only so many of those that you can make – especially since none of these was large enough to make the main shirt pieces!
So I purged over half of this, down to this pile:
Unless it was unusual fabric or I could think of specific pairings/projects, out it went. There’s just no sense keeping it all when the Salvation Army Thrift shop 5 minutes away has $1 t-shirts in every color I could ever want.
Organization counts for something during kids clothes week too, right?
Today I promise I’m doing a photo shoot – a proper one, with clothing on Tater! so that I can share the other Clean Slate Shorts and a Blank Tank on the blog for Day 6.

I am also *loving* the embroidery on the pockets.

How about making color-blocked Blank Tanks? This is what I tend to do with my beloved knit scraps!
