Once upon a time, I was a size 2 and could eat anything I wanted and never gain an ounce, even though I rarely exercised.
That was before kids, obviously.
I gained 50 pounds while pregnant with Tater (and surely those had nothing to do with consuming a BOX per DAY of Cadbury Creme Eggs during the last trimester) and for the first time in my life had to count calories in order to lose weight. I did get back to my pre-pregnancy weight thanks to better eating (so long, Cadbury Creme Eggs) running, and breastfeeding. And then I was pregnant with Bean.
I only gained 35 pounds while pregnant with him, so the weight wasn’t as hard to lose, and once again I managed to exercise and get down to my pre-pregnancy weight.
But since quitting teaching, I am now back up to the heaviest I have been since my post-partum days. And that has got to STOP.
As I mentioned last Sunday, my word of the year is extend. So I am going to be extending my physical activity. I’ve already started by reacquainting myself with an old friend (or nemesis, depending on the day)
I am fortunate that I have a pretty sweet set up with the TV there – and I love to run/walk while watching TV series on DVD. Any suggestions?
What are your health habits/plans for this year? And did anyone else eat tons of nutritionally awful things while pregnant? Please tell me my box a day habit wasn’t an isolated incident!

When I was pregnant I had a hard time eating anything until I was about 7 months and then I ate twice baked potatoes every day. I would bakes, scrape them into a bowl, add all the guts and go to town.
I ate ice cream by the gallon when I was pregnant with my twins!
I was a size 2.. when I was 2.. LOL HaAA.. too funny.. we are all meant to be different sizes and shapes. It makes the world more interesting. Just be happy and healthy and enjoy your children. Sizes don’t matter! Happiness does.
I love the Big Bang Theory. It is only 20 minutes long, but it is an entertaining 20 minutes. Or Burn Notice. This one is 45 minutes long, but it is very entertaining, and moves along.
With my first kiddo I had a double cheeseburger from McDonalds about 4 times a week. At least. The other two I loved fruit snacks, string cheese, and chocolate milk.
Monk, Six Feet Under, or Breaking Bad if you can handle the violence.
Numb3rs, and the Game Show Network. Enjoy!
I recommend the tudors. Pretty men. It’s a bit racey (to warn you or not) and I looove historical type shows.
Eek I totally need to exercise. It’s so hard when it’s too cold to go outside without a million layers. Plus I’m hungrier when it’s dark and cold. So yeah. I LOVE Veronica Mars, The Mentalist, Community, Jeopardy and lately Elementary and Revolution. I was sick my whole pregnancy and hated eating but still did. I tried to tell myself since everything was gross that I might as well just eat good for you stuff but ended up eating whatever was fastest/anything I could make without throwing up. Raw meat smells so bad.
I ate way too many Reeses peanut butter eggs when preggo for the boys. It was a crazy search in every store because I still had 4 months to go after Easter. I had them stashed everywhere!
I watch old episodes of TV shows while on the treadmill too. I’ve gone through all the seasons of Heros, Alias and am working on Lost now. It’s the best way to get that workout in!!
