Easy Knit Flowered Headband

This was a quickie gift for a birthday girl recently. I’m going to show you how I made it.

After I finished the Ruffled Onesie for my Precious Piglet costume, I had some left over ruffled strips. These are just strips of t-shirt shirred down the middle with elastic thread.

I also had some left over pink elastic from my iPod Armband, and a need for a cute, handmade gift.

This was super easy. I just folded the ruffled strips in half, then rolled.

I hand stitched across the bottom as I rolled, and kept going until I had a flower I liked. I made three. Then I sewed the elastic into a circle, and sewed the three flowers over the join in the elastic.

Voila!

I used the headband around the gift box (and wish I had taken a picture, but we were in a rush) for a special touch.

Do you have a go to handmade gift? What is it?
