This pattern was the one that started it all, back when I made the Toddler Blazer. I have to say, I was surprised when it began to sell in larger numbers, surprised when I got requests for larger sizes, and surprised at how much I’ve learned since making this pattern. So, the Basic Blazer honors the Toddler Blazer while vastly improving upon it.
Pattern Spotlight – The Basic Blazer
In this newer version, welt pockets are included, I redrafted the shoulders and lapel for a better fit, and re-graded the pattern so the varying sizes are truer. This now goes up to a size 8, where before I stopped at size 4T.
And inspired by the versions of this blazer I’ve seen in blogland, I tried some much funkier fabrics this time around than I did in my first versions, even playing with a contrasting lapel and collar.

This is so cut Melissa! I used to dress my son in vintage blazers because they were impossible to find in shops.

I love the fabric. Cute little boy patterns are hard to come by I’m not surprised it was popular! If I thought I could keep one on my little man I would be all over this! Someday ;)Found you from the sugar and dots link up.
