Homemade in Hawaii

As I mentioned in my Lace Yoke Dress Post, last month we were lucky to vacation in Hawaii. So this post is mostly to share gratuitous vacation photos, in which Tater happens to be wearing a tank shirt that  I haven’t shared yet.
The tank is upcycled from an XL Polo t-shirt that I thrifted for $2. I removed the pocket and re-used it in the center of the shirt, sewing it on with contrasting stitching. The cotton is really nice, super soft and not pilling like a lot of t-shirts at the thrift store.
I curved the hem to make it look like shirt tails, and used the same contrasting orange thread in my twin needle to hem it. The sleeves are bound with extra ribbing from the collar (it was HUGE).

We took these pictures in Hilo, which is a rainy city, so the light was perfect for photos even at high noon.

I hope all of you get a great vacation this summer!
