Rose Dress by Me!

I hope y’all enjoyed Sumo’s dress yesterday. Today I’m excited to show you mine – a dress version of the Rose T-shirt.

And the best part? I have a free pattern upgrade for you. If you have the Rose T-Shirt Pattern, you just print off this one, then tape it to the bottom of your front and back pieces. Click HERE to get the upgrade.

I am obsessed with the Lisette lawn and voile prints at Joann. I think I bought some of all of them.

The jersey for the dress is from The Fabric Fairy. I only had a yard of it, so I had to add the print band at the hem – but I love the detail (which is not noted on the pattern, but fairly easy to do. Just cut the dress off 1/2 inch below where you want the band to start). I also used the last bits of knit binding from this project to finish the sleeves – I love the little pop of green there.

I wore the dress with my new crocheted TOMS. I have joined the cult of TOMS, and have brainwashed my mom into it too. They are quite possibly the most comfortable shoes ever.

The dress looks great without the belt, light and summery and just A-line enough to skim past my tummy rolls.

Or you can belt it like I did (with my $2 thrifted belt!) for a little more style.
Don’t forget to come back tomorrow to see what Kara of Mine for the Making is sharing!
